CC's Community Coffee House opened its first location in New Orleans in 1995 and is the premier coffeehouse of the South with more than 30 locations throughout Louisiana CC’s Old Metairie (701 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA 70005) PART-TIME BARISTA Anytime Availability needed including weekends 12 - 17 hours/week This Location Operates: 6:30 AM - 10:00 PM [Mon-Sat] 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM [Sun] Summary: Ensures that CC's Community Coffee House products, service and cleanliness standards are met and surpassed by performing the following duties and responsibilities. Duties and Responsibilities: Greets customers in a friendly, pleasant, sincere and enthusiastic manner upon customer entering the building. Provides customers with product and service information. Educates and informs customers about the differences in coffee varieties, beverages, pastries and merchandise. Recommends, suggests or up sells products. Demonstrates home brewing methods and equipment. Utilizing electric brewing equipment and other manual kitchen equipment (knife, bagel cutter, etc.), prepares and/or serves a variety of customer orders such as espresso drinks, coffee of the day, pastries, etc., utilizing proper food safety procedures and following recipes. Resolves customer complaints, with assistance from Lead Barista, Shift Lead or General Manager. Maintains store appearance and organizational and cleanliness standards by cleaning furniture, espresso machine and other equipment, bar, floors, restrooms, store room and building exterior according to established procedures and governmental/agency requirements. Disposes of garbage as needed. Utilizing electronic touch-screen register system and peripheral equipment, such as electronic credit card and check verification equipment, completes customer transactions by entering and totaling purchase items in the register system, receiving funds from customers, and providing change to customers when necessary. Follows correct cash handling procedures. As assigned by manager, counts register till before and after shift, reconciling funds and following correct cash handling procedures. Receives, unpacks, inventories and stocks product shipments such as coffee, pastries, brewing equipment and accessories. Rotates products (including perishable products) according to established procedures to ensure freshness standards are maintained. Changes displays and merchandise appropriately and cleans/dusts displays regularly. Maintains all equipment and practices preventative maintenance by following checklists. Utilizing electronic scale and electric coffee grinder, measures and grinds whole bean coffee for coffee of the day selection or customer request. Prepares other bulk beverages, such as iced coffee, tea and drink mix, as needed. Relays customer suggestions to manager and offers suggestions to management regarding operational improvements. Performs other store operational tasks as assigned by manager. Minimum Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be eligible to work in the US. Must meet availability listed. 6 months or more restaurant, retail, or customer service experience preferred .
