We are looking for a detail oriented, highly analytical person to join our team as a Merchandising Analyst. The Merchandising Analyst is an entry level position. As a Merchandising Analyst you will manage and maintain the merchandise data integrity within Oracle. This includes; analyzing merchandising data, communicating changes within the data and providing the Merchandising and Design departments with product information found within the system.Additionally, the Merchandising Analyst will partner with the Business Manager of Accessories to assist with additional merchandising and new product development need for the accessories category. Here is what we specifically want from you: 1. Database Management: Update and maintain the Item Master within the Oracle system. Manage price increases for all furniture vendors; creating price lists for suppliers that do not provide one. Track upcoming price increases, ensure Master Activities Calendar reflects price increases and work with vendors to obtain this information in advance. • Write and maintain product-ordering procedures within Oracle for the showrooms and stores. • Write and maintain operational procedures for the merchandising department regarding how to enter information into the Item Master and pricing fields within Oracle. • Maintain a “Help Desk” supplying Oracle and accessories product information for the showrooms, stores, and design department. • Manage the Baker Knapp & Tubbs database for accessories, and make the appropriate related changes within Oracle. Update the Oracle system to reflect current and discontinued accessories inventory and communicate this information regularly. • Assist in determining the priority in which new product information is entered into the Oracle system. Communicate with the Merchandising and Design departments as to when new product can be ordered. • Assist in special projects related to the Oracle system. 2. Product Assortment • Maintain and update the product assortment. • Perform the missing product assortment analysis and make recommendations based on this analysis. • Manage and publish the semi-annual new product introductions, reflecting new sample selections in the product assortment. 3. Accessories Inventory • Assist in determining the current inventory that will be dropped from the assortment pursuant to the rate of sale. • Review and manage outlet product. Make recommendations to the Business Manager of Accessories regarding product that should be transferred to an outlet location or discounted. • Create replenishment purchase orders for the Outlet Stores. • Assist in determining product for Clearance Events. • Manage the floor sample inventory to ensure that the correct pricing and the proper options are reflected in Oracle. 4. Administrative • Draft correspondence to suppliers. • Communicate all necessary promotion information to IT department prior to start of any promotion • Responsible for making recommendations for hiring temporary help for Oracle related projects. Review all market purchase orders created by the design department. • Review merchandising matrixes for the new market samples. • Review incorrect purchase orders placed by the showrooms and stores. • Vendor and field communications as noted in previous sections RELATIONSHIPS & CONTACTS 1. Supervisory Relationships • Reports to the Business Manager of Accessories EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A Bachelor’s degree with a emphasis in accounting, finance, economics or merchandising is required.
