Retail District Manager Jobs

A retail district manager is responsible for the identification of new store locations, store relocations and retrofits, and for facilitating the opening of new retail stores. A retail district manager increases the company’s presence in the community by developing relationships with local chamber of commerce personnel. A retail district manager promotes leadership qualities in retail sales managers to help them motivate and coach their teams to achieve high performance results. A retail district manager is responsible for the management, staffing, and operations of multiple retail locations. A retail district manager develops customer retention tools for retail stores and collaborates with other channels to analyze issues that impact retail sales, recommending and implementing process improvements. A retail district manager maintains knowledge of company and market promotional elements.

A retail district manager position requires a bachelor’s degree and five to seven years of retail management experience. A retail district manager should have experience in budget and financial planning. Superior organizational, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, staff development, and operations skills are also required. A retail district manager should be able to present to various audiences and work well both independently and in a team environment.
