Retail Manager Jobs
A retail manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a retail outlet or store, achieving sales targets, and setting benchmarks for marketing, customer service, and sales. Retail managers also ensure that optimal inventory levels are maintained for all products in the store; recruit, train, and evaluate team leaders, clerks, housekeeping staff, sales executives, retail executives, and cash handlers; and ensure that the store complies with regulations and organizational policies.
In addition, retail managers establish and maintain store customer service policies, build good public relations with customers, support and oversee promotional campaigns, and analyze sales reports and trends to maximize sales per square foot. They are also responsible for their stores\' profits and losses. However, job descriptions for retail managers vary and may not include all of the above responsibilities.
There are many retail manager positions in retail outlets and malls. Some job titles categorized as retail management positions include store manager, assistant store manager, assistant retail manager, store operations manager, operations manager, team leader, inventory and logistics manager, and assistant operations manager. Retail manager jobs may require candidates who have bachelor\'s degrees and several years of experience in a retail setting.
